Remember the dentist as a kid? I do and I was scared to death and when I lost a tooth, I kept it in my mouth for two weeks after so my parents didn't take me to see him. I remember him as a guy who hated kids that cried....which made me cry. :0) Oh, the good old days. Haha.

Hi Mary Lou My favorites were blackballs. I think they were 3 or 5 for one cent. So for 5 cents we got a nice little brown bag full of them. Those were the days my friend. We thought they'd never end! Hope you have a wonderful day today. Rhondi xo

I thought a dime was a lot of money! For a nickel we could buy a Hershey bar. Remember those parrafin Halloween things - the orange whistles, red lips, black moustaches - and the little parafin bottles filled with the sugary liquid? And the dime boxes of marshamallows, maybe there were six inside, I thought that was a BIG deal back then.

I loved the Beeman's gum and Teaberry gum.....
In Stone Harbor, NJ they have an ice cream shop called Springers that makes Teaberry Ice Cream, its the best My dad would bring home the Beemans and Teaberry gum as a treat for us kids. It was a treat for sure. He would also bring us suckers from the Madonna Inn ( near San Luis Obispo) in different shapes, flavors and colors. They were clear suckers. That was a huge treat too!

Oh the memories! Some of my favs were the bubblegum cigars & cigarettes, also those chalky tasting cigarettes with the red (fire) on the tip LOL, Teaberry gum, Gold Rocks Nugget bubble gum, Necco wafers, Chuckles and the NikLNip wax bottles. There was also some small jaw breakers we used to buy, don't remember the brand name. Oh and the wax lips & the wax bottles with the sugary liquid like Connie mentioned. Gosh, seems like we ate a lot of candy back then....LOL

What were the big, thick oval lollipops that were wrapped in colored cellophane called? Seems like they were a nickel?
