A Couple of Good Recipes to Share with Friends

Thank you so much to those of you who commented about Aunt Bonnie. I miss her emails already. Carol Baker my friend said that Betty White said when someone died her Mother would always say "now they know the secret." And isn't that a nice way to look at it? So true. now Bonnie and Elizabeth Edwards and others know the secret. I really hope Bonnie is talking to my Mom and Dad now. She wanted to see her brothers who both died early. Lovely.
I love to collect recipes I will make. I have made both of these recipes and they are delicious and easy.
Curried Chicken Salad-serves 6
3 cups diced chicken (or even turkey)
1 1/2 cup diced celery
1 can sliced water chestnuts rinsed & drained
2 cups of seedless grapes
1 larger can of pineapple chunks drained
1/2 cup slivered almonds toasted
2 cups mayonnaise
2T.rounded curry powder
1 T.onion juice or a little chopped onion
2 T. chop chutney
Mix everything but the almonds together-put on plates or in a bowl and cover with almonds-great with hot rolls and the Chocolate trifle which I will type up tomorrow when I get a chance....

Mary Lou, I'm sorry for your sadness. My dear friend and neighbor discovered the secret also, two weeks ago, and I miss her dearly. God bless your heart and your memories.

What a beautiful way of looking at it...knowing the secret. That idea touches my heart. Thanks for the recipe. Curry is one of my favorite things. It's good for you too!

I just watched Barbara Walkter's interview with Betty White yesterday and thought what a lovely way to think about the end of one's life.

May the secret evade you for many years and you enjoy it when it becomes known to you.

All the best.
