The color of the year for 2011 will be Honeysuckle. I think it is an old old pink. I had a dress and a vest (quilted of coarse) that I wore in the 70's of this color to all of the quilting events here and anywhere I traveled. I remember well giving the dress and vest to the Good Will and was so glad to see it go. I don't want anything that color again even if it is the color of the year. But, watch and when you go to Target, Kmart, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel and loads of the other stores, they will all have stuff with this old 1970'2 color.
My goodness that didn't sound like I am a joyologist did it? Here is a positive note-Yippee there are loads of other colors to buy! Be sure to look at the column on the right and check out the Youtube suggestion second down from the top...

I was a bridesmaid in a dress that color in 1976!!!
I've always liked strong pink colours, azalea, raspberry, hot pink, so I like this honeysuckle colour. I have a leather jacket that is close to this colour from the '80's.
Lemon yellow and aqua/turquoise and pink are my triad of colour. I consider turquoise a neutral.
The brighter, clearer colours, the more I like them I have a hard time with greyed or brown toned colours.
Of course most of your colour palattes are right up my way Mary Lou!
I remember that pink! I don't think pink when I hear honeysuckle though...I always thought they were yellow!
In the old days we called this "Dusty Rose" !
I thought of you when Pantone announced the COTY!! I love it!
Happy and bright holiday wishes to you, Mary Lou! xom
PS... the lampshade is from Ikea... but from a few years ago - so I don't know if they still have them.
