CATHEDRAL OF JUNK!- Not a place I would worship but it sure was fun!

The cute little house at the beginning of this is the guys house that built this in his backyard.
It is kind of overwhelming to go back there. I am not sure if he is an artist (he is) or a hoarder. But it is neat and tidy and he did build walls of junk and chairs and other original things.

Here I am on the main floor of the Cathedral and Lois my buddy had nerves of steel and went upstairs to see what was up there and she took a photo of me worrying that she would come crashing down along with tons of junk. The structure is made up of 60 tons of junk.

Lois looks happy and really we both were as there was so much to see and giggle about. She was an awesome tour guide. It was freezing and for the time we were there we sort of forgot about how cold it was.

My goodness can you believe this? Even a little ice chest sitting there- this could be a good game of eye-spy. What all can you make out from this photo? Click on this photo for a closer look.

Blue bottles on some old bedsprings-how clever. Do you think this guy is married?

The spire of the cathedral turned in the wind-it was quite something

This chair in the "sanctuary" was made of cement. I sat down there and it was cold!

Loved the blue bottles here and there and my goodness he had some lovely chandaleers (no kidding)-I spelled that wrong didn't I? Anyway, I couldn't help but think that someone at one time had this stuff that they paid money for and it is still being used.

Here I am in the midst of the "glory" of the place. This is much better than the church of Elvis in Portland which is now defunct.
The house next door had a for sale sign on it-would you buy a house next door to this? The house that for sale was darling and neat and tidy.

Note the bundt pan below...funny

Now this gives new meaning to collage

That is definitely different;)
We have a house in town, that collects things and decorates their yard with things they find too, but not that bad.

Looks like a very fun place to visit, but I surely wouldn't want to live there. How could you ever find anything in all of that stuff? Feel badly for those folks next door who are trying to sell their home. That's truly a case of different strokes for different folks. :-) LOL

Can you imagine how much creativety that has been put into one place; impressing!

Glad you enjoyed the cathedral, Mary Lou! Kind of blows your mind, doesn't it? And amazing that you can't really even see it from the street. At least in the summer.

Loved your class. Found a background panel for my quilt yesterday. It's pale blue with white bluebonnet outlines on it. A perfect background for the car with my daughter and SIL.
