GROWING INNER ARTISTS -IDEAS TO INSPIRE AND MAKE YOU THINK

FIRST OF ALL i NEVER GET any COMMENTS ANY LONGERPLEASE DO COMMENT, AS IT ISN'T WORTH MY TIME NOT TO KNOW YOU ARE READING MY BLOGS. I DIDN'T MEAN FOR THAT TO COME OUT NEGATIVE- JUST PLEASE COMMENT ONCE IN AWHILE-IT MAKES MY DAY, SERIOUSLY-THANK YOU BY the way, I don't like that letter/word thing you have to do when you comment but I am stuck with it and if you saw all of the dozens of rude, terrible and icky comments from spam peopole you would be glad for them. I had 144 spam comments and four "real comments in the last couple of days.... So can you see why I am so over the moon when it is a real NICE person who comments? Thanks so very very much. And if you see someone who comments here, they are approved by me and stamped with a SUPER DUPER PERSON STAMP OF APPROVAL!
If you need a project to work on that makes you HAPPY and is fun then make a cow from the Out of the BOx with Easy Blocks book by Mary Lou Weiudman and Mel McFarland....we need about 60 this Spring for two big and important shows and if you have done one, We would love to show it off! Just send us a photo.
I love how in modern quilts you can do shapes that makes no sense but look wonderful in the finished product....love those pretty colors...they make us all happy. If you are using boring, muted colors, do yourself a favor and buy some pretty bright things to work with....a good way to take the road less traveled and DO NOT let your Bee or Guild Friends influence you and setting your own course with your own ideas and whimsical colors and subject.
Great shapes,
Whimsical people,
Texture in fabric or how you manipulate fabrics and threads, ribbons, buttons etc.,
Simple piecing that looks hard and has great colors and values
Repetition done over and over but in a different way looks super!,
Creating a world where cats are bigger than little girls....THESE kinds of thingS bring interest and fun to your quilts and art and make others take interest and notice what you do. AND your artist comes out to play and each time IT is not so timid and comes out easier and easier to create and grow!
It is important to laugh while you create!
Make fun new friends who are create (and if they are funny and kid it is even better)
When opening your mouth, try to be positive...
Share from your heart and give compliments and kind comments....remember that what you say could turn someone else's day around and make them feel happy instead of sad. What you give away you always get back....
Choose colors that radiate off of each other. I often like to pick a compliment of pruplse or blue and teal and this would be cheddar! Not the cheese but the color!
And finally, when you are giddy and have had a fine and wonderful day, GIVE THANKS and pass it on-this has been proven to make you do better and feel better and others around you too! If you have trouble making friends, be NICE, don't talk about negative news or something sad or a downer and comment in a positive way and tell something happy! Because think about it....everyone wants to be happy and not many people want to argue. Be a light and you can make light in your work and your environment! Hope I get to meet you this year and if I have met you, I hope I get to see you this year so we can invent and create together!

One reason I haven't left a comment is because i can't figure out what is going on. When I click on your header (in Google Reader) I get a million pictures. While I love seeing all the photos, I often don't have the time. Today I clicked on "more" and got this post. I assume it is a post, but it is very different from what I've seen before, so if I hadn't seen your comment about leaving a comment, I probably wouldn't have known that this is a post. Sorry. I guess I'm just not that computer literate. I do enjoy your blog and seeing all the photos. I love your work.

Sadly we will not get to meet this year as we live on opposite sides of the world. However I do love reading your posts and the encouragement you give - I really must get back and finish my flower power quilt. I agree that you have to do what makes you happy and I love the bright liberated style of quilting. I really dont think many in my quilt group actually get what I am doing but I am having fun.

Hi Marylou,
I think it might be your format. It's a different layout and is sometimes confusing to navigate. Sometimes it's just a bunch of pictures and you really have to look for the post. Not sure what changed. Maybe that's why the comments have decreased. Please keep the blog up. I look forward to it.

Just finished piecing three giant flowers in pots from your 'Out of the Box' book. I had great fun making it. Next up....piecing letters! Love the pictures in your blog. They make me laugh.

I haven't been able to comment on your blog either. I did as you said this time. It didn't go directly to it but I scrolled down and found it! Love the ladies flower blocks! I wanted to send you a picture of my Story Quilt I entered in our Art Show but couldn't find anywhere it shows to send a picture to you. How do I do it? You can see it on my blog www.mcreatesdaily.blogspot.com.

I am terrible about commenting, yet
I read your blog everytime you post. Will try to be better about comments to encourage you as you blog.

Loved meeting you in Huntsville, recently. Your post reminded me of a quote I saw. I have no idea who said it. " Does your life shine a light, or cast a shadow? "

I always enjoy your inspirational blogs and comment when your quilt/saying/inspiration move me. The new format was a little confusing, but I finally realized what was happening.

Today your inspiration to me is to do something good for others, so I will make Halloween table runners for the nuns at Maryknoll.

Thank you for your inspiration!

I read everyday, but don't leave comments very often, no reason, just don't! Love your blogs and they make me happy to check each day and see what little gems you've found, made or directed us to!!!

I love your blogs (both of them). I don't like all the pictures because I can't find the current post. Also, I started getting more comments on my blog when I took off that annoying security thingie that makes you enter a scrambled word and number. After two tries, I usually give up. I figure that blog owner approval is enough security anyway. I'm a big fan! Love your work!
