COWS AND FARM CHICKS MAKE FOR FUN AND HAPPY QUILTERS!

The above photos are a teaser after the cow quilts below.... The cow quilt above is by Sandi Henschel from Victoria. Right now as I write this there are twenty five quilts at the Minneapolis quilt show in ..well, guess where? There are so many people doing fun cow quilts with their own themes and now there are hundreds of ideas for themes. Great fun to dream up themes using the words, beef, cow, herd, calf, cattle, herford, angus etc....they all are clever and lead to alot of smiles of whimsy and fun! Here is Mari Linfesty's cow quilt using heart blocks from our swaps we have. It is going to be wonderful when it is done as well. Judy is doing many many cows for a border of a story quilt from when her Grandson was little. They were on a drive and he yelled "look! Cows, hundreds of them!" I can just see that happening with a little boy and know it will be a really fun quilt and a nice memory for everyone to remember. :0) Bark cloth for a new outfit for Tina...seriously There were all kinds of pillows and things made of old cheniile bedspreads and barkcloth and both of those textiles were avilable to those of us who would rather sew our own! Don't know these girls but they must be fun....we all wore our tiaras...and aprons too Tina bought the Xrated tie to wear with jeans and a blouse... A closer photo of our gang...great fun and we all bought lots of awesome things... there was also an artfest at the same time and we bought lots of prints, jewelry, things for the gardens and cool art! Next year I am planning on doing my retreat the same time so we can all enjoy this wonderful sale too! We met that night for Mexican food and enjoyed meeting one another before the quilting adventures began! Lots of nice memories... Ever wondered how they make batiks? Go here it is so much work and all for us! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDsD5sQOF_A&feature=share PLEASE PRESS OLDER POSTS NEXT FOR MORE FUN THINGS!

Wow! Thank you for all the Farm Chicks pictures! I almost feel like I was there - I was looking all at the great stuff - imagining what I would buy if I were there. Is that bad? Virtual shopping?
