MARY LOU RETREAT MADE FOR LOTS OF FUN AND NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND NEW AVENUES TO TRY FOR QUILTING ARTISTS
Sue White made wonderful border blocks to support her story quilt which I hope I have a photo of...her quilt is going to be amazing...she lives in Idaho.
Mari Linfesty got many heart blocks in one of our swaps and so she is putting them to good use! Isn't this cow great?
Here is Debbie-she lives in Boise.her blocks are beautiful and before we ended she had a huge nest drawn up and all kinds of things in it with the words "Not Such An Empty Next"-it is going to be great!
The quilt here is by Diane from Nebreaska and she had two projects going at once-this turned into a wonderful hoochy wallhanging...
This is Larua's quilt canvas that she put she and her sister on....it is so fun to do your borders first and then see how it all comes together with your story!
Here Charlotte and Laura explain concepts to the class...they have made more story quilts than any other students I have ever had and they have loads of more stories to go...isn't it wonderful to know they will leave so much history about who and what they love? They are known to us as the "bunny" sisters....
This is Canadian Sandi's quilt-by the end of the class she had everything cut out and fabulous color and whimsy (I need to try to find a good photo...
Snacks to keep us going
The workroom and everyone at work....
Diane's beautiful blocks for her Empty Nest quilt
Tina is asking about meals here..she always had great ideas and then would ask who prefered what...lots of fresh fruit and veggies along with the calorie stuff which made for a great week!
Mari sewing away as the heart swap borders get sewn on and the cow details begin to take shape...Msri is putting her sons and her husband on here for a story quilt....fun!
Heres the girls take a breather and dicuss fabric and ideas....
Kathy pictured here made a teeny purple cow. I love the size of her head (the cow)...it is darling in person
Laura made a party dog to go along with her birthday story...isn't he cute?
All in all the week was just wonderful in a wonderful place (Idaho) with wonderful people my family got to meet, wonderful food made by Tina, wonderful ideas, colors, invention, creativity and friends made for many years to come...we all can't wait until next year...hope you come and join in the FUN!
