THE MAGIC OF THE FLOWER POWER BOOK AND WORKSHOPS-YOU SHOULD SEE WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW!

The quilt in the background is one of my Flower Power books-this Seattle lady is trying to hide perhaps from the camera....it is a cool quilt!

This bird I made is HUGE and too big for any of my quilts......

The fabric we used in this flower power is awesome and still available in two colorways on my website at Marylouquiltdesigns.com

I teach the Hoochy Mama/Flower Power classes for shops and guilds...watch my schedule on my website-it is ever changing and growing....I'd love to meet you in this fun workshop

There are millions and flowers and variations of flowers and these make awesome quilts!

FLOWER POWER TIME OF THE YEAR-IS THERE ANYTHING MORE FUN THAN MAKING FLOWER POWER BLOCKS? I DON'T THINK SO!

Here are some Flower Power examples by my friends and some from me. The first one is by Laurie Latta from Lopez Island. She knows the joy that these blocks and quilts can bring to a quilter. Today my Granddaughter and I are working on flowers and then a house (from my workshop called "Hoidy Toidy Houses"....photos will come later this week.......
I will be teaching a great class this summer at BJ's Quilt Basket during the Sister's show in Oregon this summer-please come and join the fun!

Shea did this darling flower at the John C.Campbell school

1913's Grove Park Inn-WOW it is something else!

The first site I had of the Grove Park Inn....so much more to be discovered!

A small model of the hotel-each year they host a gingerbread contest at Christmas-it is shown on the "Today Show" and this is a little version that stays up all year long...
------------------------------------------------------
A photo of me, Jean and Ann before we go into the building...if you love Arts and Craft style- this is for YOU-it is wonderful in everything from the architecture and the furnishings....

A view out the back of the building where you can sit at a restaurant outside and enjoy the spectacular view!

I was so busy looking at the saying on the massive fireplace inside, I forgot to take a photo of it...the sayings are great!

As you can see the flowers are beginning to bloom and there are hundreds of tulips ready to add color all over the grounds

A vies from just one of the restaurants- spectacular!

Isn't Ashland beautiful????

A pair tree in bloom
Cloth wallpaper that I thought was wonderful!

A view out the back of the grounds....

My favorite entry into yet another restaurant there....such detail!

A Willima Morris tapestry.....

A light fixture I was taken with....lovey

Ain't it the truth!

"If what we do is not useful, it is foolish to boast about it" (thank you Susan Typpi and the person in the comments_ I knew there were smart people coming in here!)

Yellow flowers on the forsithia...awesome- and cobblestones everywhere that are great patterns!

During the summers of 1935 and ’36, author F. Scott Fitzgerald resided in Room 441. He’s just one of the American luminaries to have stayed here, a list that includes Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, George Gershwin, Thomas Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt and Henry Ford. Not to mention eight presidents — from Woodrow Wilson to George Bush.
I looked at the prices and it is cheaper than many hotels I stay in. I am hoping to stay there on one of my trips to North Carolina again. It will be worth the money for sure.
