So it came time this year to hook up to the sewer. And in doing so I had to get rid of my lovely arbour (15 years old) and the trumpet vine that grew so happliy over it. I also had to get rid of a weeping cherry tree and a huge hydrangew-how did I know they were being planted right over the place they needed to hook up? So today it looks bare there and I am planning a new arbour with clematis and trumpet vines. And a new weeping tree of some kind. That's the thing about gardens, they go through the stages of life just like we do and so you need to enjoy each stage as it comes. :0) There are alot of life's lessons out there.
I know that it is Fall and everything is pumpkins but I have these photos and I am going to delete them so my computer doesn't crash and I wanted to share. The photos below are of Manito Park here in Spokane and the photos above are of my garden. I love gardening and flowers and dirt and the smells and sites of anything growing. A seed into a miricle.

Wow ~ your garden looks like the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature. Building and planting around your new arbour will be fun and very rewarding.
If you hadn't mentioned that other place was a public garden there, we would have thought you had a really big back yard. ;-)

Mary Lou, your garden is so gorgeous! You live such a busy life, how do you ever find time to grow a garden so lovely as yours? I have the touch of death when it comes to trying to grow anything, so I don't even try. But I envy anyone who can and you certainly do a great job of it!
