I know no one wants to hear this but I can "smell" a hint of Fall even though the temp. was in the 90's today. I am dreaming of pumpkins, leaves, cats, candy and scarecrows. Summer is a lovely time of year but I think Fall is my favorite season for so many many reasons.
Tomorrow will be warm again and so for now, I am going to enjoy my flowers, fountain, gazpacho, the river, my Grandchildren running in the sprinkler and lemonade. It is just good to be alive and healthy isn't it? Count your blessings......

Amen to all of the above, Mary Lou. Have a great day.
Okay Mary Lou,
Didn't we just see 8 months of snow pictures from your backyard? How is it possible that fall is almost here? How many seasons do you get up there? We are basking in 68 and sunny weather. I am praying fall is no where to be seen. But then again school starts on the 2nd so unfortunately it must really be coming. I even made chili last night which is definitely a fall dish. Yikeees!
What a fun quilt. I want to do a fall one soon. I have been making mini quilts to hang with clothespins on my drying rack. Now if I can just finish things and catch up, I will have time for me;)

I saw my first fallen acorns and fairy caps as I walked the dogs early this morning. Yesterday it was 101, and today will be in the high 80s. Definitely a cooling trend is in the air here too!
School starts on Monday. . . I feel sorry for the kids. I remember when I was a child, school NEVER started until after Labor Day! To prepare new textbooks for the upcoming school year, I've been at work since August 3rd. Teachers and their aides returned yesterday. Everyone was asking each other about their "summer". . . It had me thinking that even though summer is only 3 months long, and it still has a month on the calendar, I guess when school starts, summer will officially be over. . .
I'm thinking today about the fall and winter quilt projects I'll start now, so they will be finished in time to enjoy them for the season. . .
